If you have ever walked into the SEED shop and wondered what the lovely smell is, the answer is always True Grace. We are constantly burning True Grace candles as well as using the room diffusers and love the rich scents and atmosphere they create. True Grace have a brilliant reputation for creating high quality candles in a huge array of scents, there are classics such as the sweet and familiar Garden Rose as well as a host of the more unusual, including the smokey, wood-based, scent of Library. With such a fabulous range on offer, of course, we were delighted when they agreed to be out Artist of the Month for September.
Could you tell me a bit about how True Grace began? What inspired the founders? We began by making candles and selling them from a stall in Portobello Market, West London. It grew from there and in 2003 we started True Grace, making as naturally as we could from our workshops in Wiltshire.
Where are you based and does this inspire you at all? Our workshops are just outside Warminster and we live a few miles away in the countryside. For us the country, nature and the seasons are our greatest inspiration.
What has been True Grace's finest moment so far? We love the team that has built up around as we have grown and the great stores that stock our products. We opened our first store in London last year - that was pretty special.
Can you describe True Grace in five words? An essence of England.
Do you have a motto for work? As it should be.
What are your ambitions for True Grace in the future? We want to continue to grow but as organically and as responsibly as possible. There are always new products and new fragrances - the list keeps growing.
Finally, what advice you give to aspiring entrepreneurs? Keep at it!
