SEED shop assistant Molleys' pick of the gifts for 2016, includes jewellery, ceramics and scarves. All from expert makers and designers.
One of the best things about working at SEED is getting to see and handle all of the gorgeous things! I love getting a delivery and seeing the treasures from our expert makers and designers. This year we’ve really had some incredible pieces, from striking jewellery to fabulous handmade ceramics, it was hard to pick just a few. I would love to wake up to any of these under the tree on Christmas morning! They all make for the perfect gift.
Hope Peridot Ring
All of the pieces by jeweller Anne Morgan are stunning and unique, but it’s her ring range that has really captured my heart. The wide band of reticulated silver paired with the small precious stone makes for a striking contrast and each compliments the other greatly. The tiny peridot is a gorgeous clear green that catches the light and looks wonderful!
Wall Hanging Bird Alcove
I really enjoy Jane Johnson’s ceramics, I love the sense of fun and play that comes across in her pieces. Jane is always creating new things for us as SEED, recently we received a range of figurines with gold lustre accents, they make a real statement as a group. But my favourite of all has to be the bird wall hangings. I’m a big fan of folk art and narrative within pieces and this really ticks the boxes for me.
Large Check Woollen Scarf
Two of the scarves from the Donegal Woollen Mill have already found their way into my wardrobe. I adore my moss check scarf and extra large cosy pashmina, but I have my eye on this large check scarf as well! I love the vibrant colours of this design, they remind me of a coat I had when I was little, it has a retro feel.
Brown Leather Messenger Bag
I just could not stop touching these messenger bags when the arrived in! The classic brown leather is buttery soft and crying out to be handled. This little bag is the perfect size, the width is deceiving and allows you to carry all the essentials. These bags are timeless and age wonderfully, sure to be a piece you can love forever and ever.
Block Colour Porcelain Bangle
In my personal style I really enjoy clothes that have a retro feel and Alice Shields‘ recent porcelain jewellery range is the perfect partner for that style. The bold shapes have been paired with a gorgeous colour palettes all of which work extremely well with the soft textures of the porcelain. I’d love a whole arm of these bangles!
