A look at the Hey Clay! events going on in the local area as part of the Craft Council's Get Creative weekend.
In case you haven’t heard, the ‘get creative’ weekend is fast approaching! A nationwide celebration of craft and making from the 7th-9th April 2017. There are hundreds of events you can get involved with and one that we’re particularly excited about is Hey Clay! free pottery sessions. We love ceramics here at SEED so would love nothing more than to get hands on! If you too want to play or experiment with clay here are some local places taking part in the Hey Clay! events:
Enigma Pottery, Frome, Saturday 8th, 11am-4pm
Get creative throwing your own pot on the wheel. You can take your creation home unfired or opt in £5 to have it fired and collect later.
Fired Thoughts Art Studio & Gallery, Devizes, Saturday 8th, 1pm-5pm
Add your contribution to a community sculpture using clay and mixed media.
Fisherton Mill Gallery, Salisbury, Friday 7th & Saturday 8th
A two day extravaganza! On Friday you can get hands-on and help build a bee garden. The final piece will be displayed and then the clay recycled.  If you’re after something a bit more permanent, on the Saturday you can come along and try your hand at silver clay jewellery. Although free to attend, this workshop has a £10 charge for materials.
Ceramic Space, Bradford On Avon, Saturday 8th, 1.30pm-4pm
Make a functional pot or dish with your own two hands using traditional pinching techniques. Booking is essential for this workshop.

It’s not just clay you can get creative with over that weekend, the Black Swan Arts will be inviting children to take part in free workshops with MA students from Bath Spa University throughout Saturday afternoon. More info here.
